In order to do a good job in educating the 2021 freshmen and creating a cultural aura of enthusiasm for HUST, the School of Energy and Power Engineering (EPE) held an entrance ceremony for the freshmen themed with "Meeting at HUST, Setting up new dreams" in the Power Building in the morning of September 3. Luo Xiaobing, Dean of the school, the classroom teachers for freshmen and postgraduates, and the student union counselor, attended the event.

At 8 o'clock a.m., the entrance ceremony officially began, where Dean Luo Xiaobing introduced EPE and extended a warm welcome to the freshmen. Luo also expressed his ardent hope for every freshman's future, and signed a "Promise of Struggle" with them, and presented every and each a welcoming gift.

A total of 318 young students from 27 provinces (cities, autonomous regions) gathered at the foot of Yujia Hill, next to the Youth Garden, and in front of the Power Building to join hands for a promise of youth struggle. Luo sent a blessing, a gift, and a group photo to every and each young student. All freshmen signed their names on the signature wall and took a group photo with the class as a whole unit to mark the occasion.
After the ceremony, the freshmen walked into the exhibition hall of the Power Building and listened to safety education. The instructor expounded various cases and keys in fire, theft and fraud prevention in detail.

Then they visited an exhibition themed "Strength of Growth" to learn about outstanding students in Party branch construction, Training Project of Young Marxists, improvement of humanity and arts literacy, innovation and entrepreneurship, voluntary service, and academic style building, and made in-depth exchanges with outstanding upperclassmen at the scene.
On the other hand, the upperclassmen introduced them various student organizations of HUST, and sincerely invited the freshmen to join in.
A youth of struggle is so glorious. Best wishes for these freshmen who will be engraved with the spirit of HUST. Taking the mission of EPEers, and living up to a glorious youth, the freshmen have gathered here, where they are to stay together, and grow together!
